Every once in a while, something shocks me back out of being acclimatized to the boiling water.
They don’t say “alleged”:
“…DHS has surged law enforcement and has already made more than 1,000 arrests of murderers, rapists, pedophiles and gang members.”

As Jesus is to Christians,
as water is to life,
as salt is to bread, and
as the land is to indigenous peoples;
so is “innocent until proven guilty” to our entire legal system.
Without Jesus, there is no Christianity.
Without water, there is no life on Earth.
Without salt, bread is entirely inedible.
Without the land, there are no people.
Without the assumption of innocence, those with any power get to do whatever the hell they want to literally anyone else.
Without the assumption of innocence, there can be no fairness. No justice.
I’m not speaking generally. I’m talking about for you, YOU in particular, reader. And me. And our actual – not theoretical – kids and beloved ones.
Arrest a 4 year old as a gang member, why not.
Arrest a parapalegic in a coma for armed robbery.
Arrest your 70-something year old mother for drug smuggling.
Arrest you for sexual assault of a minor.
The Department of Homeland Security, and ICE, assume you are guilty.
They are telling us, again and again, precisely who they are and precisely what they want:
They want the complete dissolution of law, of order, of justice.
They want absolute control without limits.
They always wanted absolute control without limits.
And now they’re making it happen.
